Performing Arts

Campbelltown Performing Arts High School specialises in the Performing Arts disciplines of Dance, Drama, Music, Circus and Vocational Education in Entertainment production. All of our performing arts programs are based the relevant NSW Syllabus which incorporate a wholistic arts practise which strives to encourage creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and effective communication within each subject area. It is our aim for students to achieve their personal best in their chosen endeavours amongst like minded peers.

Each year the school auditions students in Dance, Drama, Music and Circus. Students are selected into their chosen Performing Arts streams of Dance, Drama, Circus or Music in Year 7-10. Here they complete a challenging curriculum with a high level of expectation in performance, composition, appreciation, musicology and development as a performing artist; both in ensemble groups and as an individual. Students may audition for a second performing arts subject in Year 9. They may also continue into HSC 2 Unit subjects in Dance, Drama, Music 1 or Music 2 and VET Entertainment Production.

Year 7 Performing Arts is a general taster subject for students who are not auditioned and allows students to have the opportunity to develop a particular skill, giving them creativity, confidence and collaboration skills. Students experience Circus, Production, Dance and Drama studies in this subject. They have the ability to select a Music, Dance, Drama or Circus as an elective in Years 9-10, through audition.
